We’ve started the year on a real high. Our Agilico Zero range of remanufactured MFDs has officially achieved BSI 8887 accreditation across multiple sites, making us the UK’s only independent MPS provider to hold the BSI Kitemark for Remanufactured Products at this level.
Our Agilico Zero devices will now carry their own BSI-approved sticker.
This accreditation is a wonderful recognition for our team, in particular our expert engineers and install team, and it really is the icing on the cake after a hugely successful 2025 for Agilico Zero.
What Is an Agilico Zero Device?
Agilico Zero devices are multifunction devices (MFDs) that go through a complete, controlled, BSI-certified restoration process. Each device is carefully rebuilt and tested to perform like new, while dramatically reducing environmental impact.
After this process, it’s almost impossible to tell the difference between a new and an Agilico Zero device, the only giveaway is the Agilico Zero and BSI stickers.
Refurbished vs. Remanufactured: What’s the Difference?
It’s a common question, and an important one.
- Refurbished devices sold by others: Refurbishment standards can vary widely. In some cases, devices may only be cleaned externally, with limited internal work carried out. This means you could be supplied with a device which has been heavily used or has a history of problems.
- Agilico Refurbished devices: Devices are selected using strict criteria, meaning only devices with 80% or more of their usable life are put through a rigorous refurbishment program, before being inspected and signed off by service management before installation.
- Remanufactured devices: Devices undergo a more intensive transformation, following strict engineering and quality standards (such as BSI 8887). They are disassembled, rebuilt using approved components, tested against original manufacturing specs, and validated for long-term performance. Our processes are regularly audited by BSI to ensure we continue to meet the standards required to maintain our Kitemark.
Our processes haven’t changed – we’ve always remanufactured to an exceptionally high standard – but now that commitment has been independently verified through BSI 8887.
BSI accreditation is your independent guarantee that every Agilico Zero device meets the highest levels of quality, consistency, reliability, and sustainability.
Our Remanufacturing Process
Every Agilico Zero device goes through a detailed multi-stage process:
- Assess & Erase
Devices are assessed for suitability, and all data is securely removed, meeting recognised security standards. - Disassemble & Inspect
Our expert engineers strip each machine down and carefully inspect every component. High-quality parts are harvested and set aside for reuse, while worn elements are identified and replaced. - Rebuild, Update & Test
Devices are cleaned, rebuilt, rigorously tested, and updated with the latest firmware and security to support modern working environments. - Final Quality Assurance & Certification
Each device undergoes final BSI-standard checks before receiving its Agilico Zero and BSI Kitemark labels, ready for delivery, installation, and full support, just like new equipment
Only then is the device approved for reuse and fitted with the Agilico Zero BSI label.
Supporting the Circular Economy
Most MFDs still have up to 80% of their usable life remaining when they reach us. The idea of discarding them and starting from scratch simply doesn’t make sense – environmentally or economically.
By remanufacturing these devices instead of replacing them, we:
- Extend product life
- Reduce raw material demand
- Avoid significant carbon emissions (up to 97.5% compared to new)
- Recycle or responsibly recover everything that can’t be reused, eliminating waste going into landfill
It’s a powerful, practical example of the circular economy in action.
