Challenges
Global Coatings have trusted Agilico for managed IT support for a number of years, and while renewing their services the company identified two key priorities: achieving Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation to strengthen their cybersecurity position, and resolving persistent issues with their WiFi network.
On inspection, our engineers discovered that two separate WiFi networks were in place and interfering with each other. This had arisen when their new connectivity partner added access points without coordinating with Agilico, resulting in inconsistent coverage and poor performance across the site.
In addition, with Microsoft ending support for Windows 10, they also needed clarity on which user devices would require replacement or upgrades.

The Solution
Agilico provided a comprehensive package of IT and security improvements:
- WiFi Network Optimisation: Our engineers decommissioned conflicting access points, replacing them with matched devices on a single tenancy. We also carried out a full site audit, adding an extra access point to eliminate poor signal areas and ensure seamless coverage across the premises.
- Cyber Essentials Plus Accreditation: We managed the end-to-end process of accreditation, from updating security policies to applying critical firmware and software updates. An enhanced firewall solution was also deployed to meet compliance standards and protect business data.
- Device Upgrades: A full audit of user devices was completed to highlight those needing upgrades, as Microsoft phases out support for Windows 10.
