About BrewDog

BrewDog is one of the fastest growing brewers in the world with a rapidly expanding bar and hotel estate in the UK and overseas.

In 15 years, the company has grown from the two founders selling their new craft beer in Fraserburgh, North-East Scotland, to one of the most recognisable brands in the market with worldwide sales of over 160m pints of beer annually and opening their hundredth bar in Las Vegas, USA in 2022.

Challenges

BrewDog were looking to appoint a supplier to refresh their current fleet of printing devices across their offices, production facilities, retail sites (bars and hotels) and international locations.

After a stringent Tender process, we were awarded the contract in 2022.

We have been delighted with the cost and environmental savings provided by our new contract. Their flexible and dynamic approach, combined with their reputation for a first-class level of service and support, has led to a successful partnership from day one.

Our Solution

Before making any recommendations, we like to get a detailed understanding of the customer and their specific requirements. We have been in business for a long time but we don’t like to make any assumptions, so always complete a full audit of what assets the organisation has. It’s essential at the start of every tender process that we understand how the current devices are being used, where the pain points are for the user, and what the customer hopes to see in the future.

Based on our extensive knowledge and expertise, and only after full and careful consideration of the other excellent alternatives, we recommended the award-winning combination of Canon MFDs, uniFLOW online Print Management and control software, and Canon eMaintenance Fleet Management software to deliver the best value for money and environmentally friendly solution to their Multi-function Print Fleet requirements.

Following a successful pilot, installation to all sites began in Q1 2023 to their bars, PLC headquarters and their Brussels sites, with all work carried out by our own dedicated Installation team. This was followed up by full training on the new hardware and software by our Customer Training Officers. We used this opportunity to educate all users on the benefit of their new solution to ensure that they and BrewDog extracted the maximum benefits and return on their investment.

The Benefits

Reducing BrewDog’s print models from 12 to 4 not only simplifies the user experience, but it also generates significant additional value through economies of scale, in terms of both hardware and consumable pricing.

The choice of Canon’s own uniFLOW online Print Management software fulfilled the objective of reducing ongoing costs and related carbon impact, while Canon’s eMaintenance software solution remotely maintains their printer fleet by automating device alerts, replacement consumables and meter readings.

Our environmental audit of their outgoing Xerox devices compared to the new Canon devices showed a fleet energy consumption saving of over 50% – from a 5-year usage of 18,247kWh reducing to 8,669kWh going forward.

This new combination of hardware and software provided a financially and environmentally compelling package which, using the latest technology, brought major improvements to their existing Print Service while also generating significant cost savings.
