About Dulwich College
Dulwich College is an academically selective independent boys’ school situated in a pleasant suburb approximately five miles from the centre of London.
Dulwich College is a vibrant community which comprises of a co-educational Kindergarten and Infants’ School (6 months to Year 2), Junior School for boys from Year 3 to Year 6 and Senior School for boys from Year 7 to Year 13.
Challenges
The existing service provider was a manufacturer who did not provide Dulwich College with preventative maintenance nor visibility of either costs or output. Furthermore there was no dedicated account manager assigned to the school and thus if issues arose the resolution process was long-winded and impractical. The school also had an ageing fleet of inefficient machines and was in dire need of a reprographic facility that the manufacturer has not offered.
”The main objectives of the client were to gain insight into their costs and output, decrease their overall costs and waste, implement a reprographic facility, and attain a more reliable print fleet without large amounts of upfront investment.
How we helped
The results of an audit were processed, identifying the inefficient machines within the current fleet and allowing the client to view their usage and costs.
We developed a comprehensive service plan based on both the audit and the customer requirements. The aim was to replace all inefficient machines over an agreed period and implement an appropriate software solution, allowing Dulwich College to reduce costs, increase efficiency and understand their current print environment.
The software solution implemented included uniFLOW, an integrated print and scan management solution that allowed for greater cost management, transparency and security. In total 26 large multi-functional devices are currently being managed.
Where necessary, machines have been replaced for new and the existing fleet is controlled to maximise the older machines efficiency through aspects such as intelligent routing, sending documents to the most appropriate and efficient machine for the job.
The solution we offered is entirely scalable and will adapt as necessary to the growing demands and output of the school. Overall we fulfilled Dulwich College’s objectives through the provision of a completely managed print service and have managed to build a healthy ongoing business relationship.
